Interestingly, in his comments on 1 Cor. 13: 10 he equated τέλειος with perfect knowledge. (Theories of human reasoning frequently appear in Wesley's writings.)

http://wesley.nnu.edu/john-wesley/john-wesleys-notes-on-the-bible/notes-on-st-pauls-first-epistle-to-the-corinthians/#Chapter+XIIILaura Fellemanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12473972360668571164noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9065284951023371310.post-21675415405441617872012-09-24T22:12:30.269-05:002012-09-24T22:12:30.269-05:00Oops, got my accent in the wrong place. I would say compassion is a result of τελεῖος, which I understand to be maturity. Consider Paul's words in 1 Corinthians 13: he contrasts childishness with τελεῖοςְ for when τελεῖος comes, childish things are set aside. I have a discussion about this at my blog, When Will Tongues Be Stilled.
